March Travel Madness

March has come and will soon go in just a blink of an eye! Well, not literally because March has 31 days that made us do things fun and fabulous but the adage “Time flies by”, again, applies to how this month fared to me personally.

The last time I posted at any of my blogs was over two weeks ago and that is already a long time for me! It is the same reason why I find it too hard to write again and update my blog sites once again. You see, when a week has passed without me updating any of my virtual homes, how to get back to my usual blogging mojo is really a thing to be fought so hard. For one, I am too busy offline with my homemaking role, especially motherhood and homeschooling our 2nd grader. Facing my computer only lets me do Facebook and check my email inboxes. Even though there are so many things that I care and I want to write about, I still end up unable to do it. As a matter of fact, even my “A-Snap-A-Day” Daily Challenge has gone bad. I now declare I am an epic fail on it. It is only March and yet, I have already surrendered. Well, I can’t force myself so I’ll leave it at that.

One huge thing that filled this month for the travelholic family was our round trip to Keene, Texas in just 7 days. Can you imagine driving for 1,200 miles from Wisconsin to Texas and another same distance going back in just a week with two little travelholics? You might can’t, but we have made it and have succeeded with our goal as to why such trip was made.

Along I-90 W in Wisconsin entering Minnesota

We left the still snowy Wisconsin on a Friday morning, slept in Lamoni, Iowa that night, resumed driving the following day and settled for Saturday night to rest in Ardmore, Oklahoma after a very strong rain made us decide to stop driving even though we could have made it to our destination in 2 hours. Sunday noon, we arrived in Keene, Texas and were very delighted and happy.

Made it to Texas!

Our purpose was to hunt for a house that we can live in when we move there in June. See, I haven’t even blogged about our huge move! I’ll try to soon!

So, we had three days of stay in Keene, Texas and on those days, we were able to do what we had to do. We started driving back on Thursday morning and made it home Friday night, at 11pm. It was a tough road trip adventure because of time constraints but God was so good, as He always Is, to bless us with strength and guide us in every step that we took.

It was a road adventure full of exciting madness! And yes, it is the positive kind of adventure and thrill!

Will share more stories and photos of such travel next time!

The Travelholics Say “Welcome to West Virginia!”

Yes, yes! The travelholic family was in West Virginia!

Well, at least we were able to step foot on the lands of the Wild and Wonderful State for over 30 minutes but not reaching one hour! Ha ha! That’s because during our August Road Trip from Washington, D.C. going home to Wisconsin, we trekked I-68 from Maryland to Pennsylvania and then to Ohio and from Washington Pennsylvania to connect to I-70 West going to Columbus, Ohio, there was a very short land area of West Virginia where I-70 is en route so the state hoppers in us were pretty excited, even with the short distance! Lol.

We got to stop by for some stretching and snacks in Wheeling, West Virginia’s McDonald’s and passing through the famous Wheeling tunnel was the highlight, too. It was just unfortunate that I wasn’t able to capture the scene as I wasn’t in the front seat that time. But of course, we didn’t miss the chance posing at the Welcome to West Virginia sign– why should we, right? :D

Welcome to West Virginia

Me, me, me! Lol. I could very well say now that “I have been to West Virginia!” Ha ha!

Welcome to West Virginia

The travelholics in West Virginia, yay!

Don’t mistake it for a long stay in the Wild and Wonderful State though. Like I have said, we were only able to step foot in West Virginia for less than an hour! However, we did create beautiful memories from such stopover.

Ah… the fun thing of road trips! We definitely are state hoppers and our daughters, as young as they are right now, are very much fortunate! That August 2013 road trip that we did was a very short one, but at least, we got to take a week of breathing fresh air from other states. And yes, the quick chance of being in West Virginia was definitely a fun one!
